Playing sport and being active is a great way for kids to improve their physical fitness and strength, and contribute to their happiness and health into adulthood. Learning how to build the strength of mind to improve sporting performance is a skill that will transition to other areas of their lives in the future. Presented by elite athlete Karla Gilbert OAM and Phil Clayton, this workshop is designed to help kids develop skills that they can put into practice to increase their mental toughness, set goals, improve focus, self-efficacy, and build a work ethic. She has won back to back world Ironwoman championships (2000 and 2002), seven consecutive Ironwoman series wins (1996-2002), sixteen Australian championships, seven Queensland titles and numerous other championship events including adventure racing and SUP. Along with being an elite athlete, Karla is an accredited nutrition and health coach and a certified Level III and IV fitness trainer and now is a mum to two precious girls. Phil Clayton Surf legend, coach, former professional Ironman and winner of eleven Uncle Toby’s events. Phil is a natural communicator and attendees will benefit from listening to his coaching philosophies and advice on training programs, athlete mindset, goal building and helping you learn how to get the best out of your athletes.
